Indikon Mitts
Let’s twist! Left and right twists join knits and purls to create an appealing texture in these warm, unisex mitts. Worked in the round on dpns, the Indikon Mitts take their name from the Greek indikon (“blue dye from India”).
Finished (Blocked) Measurements:
—Size M, hand circumference: 7 inches/18 cm unstretched at widest part of palm
—Size L, hand circumference: 7.5 inches/19 cm unstretched at widest part of palm
Size/Ease Notes:
These mitts are intended to be worn with zero ease to 1.5 inches/4 cm of negative ease around the palm. Size M will comfortably fit a palm circumference of 7–8.5 inches/18–22 cm (measured above the thumb) and Size L will fit a palm circumference of 7.5–9 inches/19–23 cm (measured above thumb). For a smaller size, try using fingering weight yarn and smaller needles.
Yardage: 190 (225) yds/175 (205) m sportweight yarn.

Gauge:
22 sts/36 rnds = 4”/10 cm in stockinette stitch using larger needle, after blocking
24 sts/36 rnds = 4”/10 cm in pattern stitch using larger needle, after blocking
